When to Seek a Diagnostic Assessment or Speech-Language Therapy

  • A parent always knows best. If you have a feeling there is something wrong, schedule an appointment for an assessment.
  • If your child seems to be progressing at a slower rate than other children his/her age, schedule an appointment.
  • If your child is not meeting a number of the milestones suggested on the normal speech-language development page, schedule an appointment.
  • If your child is having difficulty meeting milestones and is doing so slowly, in your opinion, schedule an appointment.
  • If speech-language therapy has been recommended as a result of a previous assessment, or by another professional, schedule an appointment.
